Lots to Celebrate!!!!

Happy Anniversary Charlie and Brook!!!
New House!!!
Happy Birthday Courtney!!!!

WOW - the last week had LOTS to celebrate for the Moores' family!!!!
Last weekend - Aug 24 was Charlie & Brook's 1st Anniversary! I can
not believe it has been a year since the most incredible wedding ever!
The day before - they found that their offer on their new home had been
accepted - this was all ON TOP of Charlie passing his language exams
for the Special Forces program!!! He headed off for "Robin Sage" - the
final step in the Green Beret journey!
THEN - this Saturday, we celebrated Courtney's 26th birthday!!!! My
little girl looks so beautiful as her "Ty Marley" grows inside her! We
looked for 4 weeks to find her the Wii Fit for the gift she really wanted,
and she was a happy girl!
And TODAY - AVA and Brook are coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a Boy!!!!

Courtney and Doug went to the doctor on Tuesday and got the BIG news!
Courtney will be having a little Boy in January! Smiles all around! I'm gonna
be a grandpa again!

Terra Ceia Lagoon

Every week I travel to the Bradenton / Sarasota area over the Sunshine Skyway.
After passing over the bridge I pass through a little area on the water called
Terra Ceia - it's absolutely gorgeous! Last week I stopped at an opening in
the mangroves and capture a few images of the lagoon and the houses
hidden on Terra Ceia Bay...

Palma Ceia Condos

Linda spotted some new condos in Palma Ceia on Sunday and I had to get
out and get a few images... I love the pastel colors the builders are using
now!

Woodcarving Yard

This is part of woodcarving yard in Townsend, Tennesee. They are amazing
here - they do the woodcarving with chainsaws!!! Incredible detail and shape!
We got our "Smokey" bear from here last year - very talented people!

Photoshop Fun!

I have a few photographer friends that are often sending me the
latest buzz on Photoshop actions and plug-ins. The pictures below
are same image with the 2nd one being adjusted by a new plug-in
for Photoshop that I down loaded a trial version of... It has several
dramatic changes that you can make to your images - I find it
fascinating! Try it for yourself TOPAZ ADJUST

Fisheye Fun!

I got a 15mm Fisheye lens and have really enjoyed some
of the 1st images I have made from it.. These shots were
from a recent sunrise at Ballast Point Park in Tampa...

I woke early this morning, fed the dogs, made coffee
and headed out to one of my favorite sunrise spots,
Ballast Point Park - I'm always amazed at the light show
our Creator provides every morning....

Happy Birthday Linda!

My bride of 34 years, Linda turns ..... oops, if I mentioned the
age here this would surely be my last post! Linda got the new
iPhone for her birthday and will be playing with it for months
to come! I hope it is your best birthday ever Linda!! (aka Nana)

One Spoiled Pup!

Here is my male Labrador, Harley! As you can see, Linda lets
him make his own place on our bed and he even brings some
toys to play with.... It is a sure bet that you will find him here
if he is not laying wherever we are..

Charlie's Girls II

Ava is now 2 months old and is getting more beautiful by
the day (OK, I'm prejudice)! Brook is quickly getting back
to her shape before the pregnancy! Charlie's girls are
looking awesome!

Cades Cove Cabin

I always long to be in the mountains this time of year (and most
other times too). This image was from our visit last May to the
Smokey Mountain National Park. It is an absolutely GORGEOUS
place! This cabin was one of the 1st settlers in the area....

A stroke of good fortune!
This image of the Don Ce Sar Hotel was purchased by a Disney
magazine - Wondertime! It's awesome to have someone appreciate
your work... The image appears in the July/August edition as
a background for a vacationing family...

Here's lookin at ya.......

Since I was a little guy, playing on the docks at John's Pass I have
held a fascination for Pelicans! They are like big clowns and will
pose for you... They love hand outs!!! They still bring a smile to
my face and brighten my spirit when I see them! They are amazing
creatures - I call them all "Pete"..........

Dr. Sy & Jane Rabins

April 26 was the wedding of Dr. Sy and Jane Rabins! The ceremony and the
reception was at the Sarasota Yacht Club! Sy and Jane celebrated with their
family and friends and a wonderful time was had by all!!! They danced and
laughed their way into their new life together!

Shadracks

Review

The Spot: It's very possible Shadrack's existed, soaked in beer and history, before the beach was here. It feels that worn in. Built with roof shingles, a few planks of wood and a can of lacquer, Shadrack's is on the random lane between both seawater bodies and main streets. Its walls hang with promotional beer trinkets from the last time the rep came through in 1902.

The Juice: If endearing wasn't the word of the day already, Shadrack's has three beers on Tap, the Buds and Blue Moon, which cost less than anywhere else.

The Grub: Unless you've got a real hankering for a bag of dusty Bugles tacked to a post, dine beforehand at Sea Critters, Wharf or Hurricane.

The Selling Point: This is what drinking in a timelessly lazy island paradise should be.

The Captain and The Kid

YUP - stole the title from Jimmy Buffett!
In this case, the Captain is Charlie and The Kid is his daughter,
Ava Grace! The picture was from our visit in May - we caught
them napping together! I somehow found a camera laying
around and got this memory.....

***NOTE - This whole grand baby thing has Linda totally out
of control!!! She is a frequent shopper at BabysRUs and yesterday
we must have visited every baby consignment shop in Hillsborough
County.... HELP........

HEY! I'm 6 weeks old today!

Here is our little Ava when we visited her last month! She
is 6 weeks old today! She will be coming to see us July 4!
We'll let Mom and Dad come too!!!

My BABY GIRL is having a baby!!!!
Courtney is pregnant!!! Our newest grandchild is due January 24, 2009!
Courtney and Doug have already picked out the name - Marley!!!!!

On Sunday, June 1 I had the pleasure of photographing and
sharing in the special day of 2 beautiful young people - Jill
and Jason! It was an awesome wedding and reception - there

WHAT A TRIP!!! Our trip to see Charlie, Brook and Ava was far better
than we could ever imagined! Ava stole our hearts immediately! Brook
and Charlie are wonderful parents and are great at it already!!! The
