I hear you calling!!!

The mountains are calling my name! Now!
As the weather begins to warm, my mind
wanders north to the Smokies and the Dragon!
I think about it and feel myself lean into the
turns - turn after turn after turn - fresh,
clean and crisp air....Flo, my Harley is over
Performance Specialists being "hopped up"
by Cmdr Kelly and Sonny - zoom, zoom!
We have already made our plans and will
arrive at the cabin the afternoon of May
18 and stay for 8 glorious days - OMG!!!!!!!!!!
I CAN'T WAIT!!!! I go there in my mind almost
everyday...Come - go with us!!!!

Here is Charlie and a buddy at the end of SFS - Special
Forces Selection at Ft Bragg, North Carloina. You can
tell by the smile that he is happy that it is over! This
was last December - since then, he has been to Baghdad
and back and will move to Ft Knox in a couple weeks
to complete his Captain's Career Course and then in
September he will move to Ft Bragg to complete the
Special Forces training! And on we go!

Sunrise Fisherman!

I was not the only crazy guy up before the sunrise
on Sunday! Here is a dedicated Fisherman - waiting
for the BIG one - the monster that pulls him over
the rails, drags him around the bay for 2-1/2 hours
and into the Gulf before tiring.... He was still waiting
when I left - maybe next week....

Pay Water Bill Here....

The BIG and lovely St. Petersburg Municipal
Services Building! I wonder why the water
bills have gotten so much bigger??? Someone
has to pay for this building....

Jungle Prada Pier

I grew up in St. Petersburg just a couple blocks
from Boca Ciega Bay. This is the place my dad
used to launch our boat from and where I would
fish when we wouldn't be out in the boat. It is
still very peaceful and you can still see the boats
coming and going - some 45 years later.....

The Captain has landed!

The long awaited, much anticipated
call came around noon!!!! Dan and I
had visited with a customer, had lunch
and I was dropping him off at the office
when I noticed I had a call - YUP! He
said - "Old Man - I'm back in the USA"!
I screamed out the window, called him
back - IT'S REAL - he's home! Thank
God!

Here he is flying down the Dragon last
June - we will do it again in May!!!!

ON THE WAY!

Charlie left Baghdad this morning for his 1st
leg on his journey back home!!!!!! He should
be back in the states Thursday / Friday!!!!
We will be counting the hours until we hear.....

Up early!

On the weekends I get up real early,
make some coffee and head off before
dawn to catch the beautiful sunrises
we enjoy here! This Sunday Linda
decided to come with me and
it was a little too cold for her, but I
did get her out for a few shots!

from over 33 years ago! Tom brings
it to Florida and Steve (Camera Hutt)
makes me an 8 x 10 - I scanned it
and here it is.... That's me in the air
with all the BLACK hair - boy, I'd like
to have that back!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE!!!!

Charlie turns 27 today! If you could custom
order a son, he would be just like Charlie! I
have no idea why our Lord blessed me with
a son like this, but I appreciate it! He is currently
in Iraq with the US Army Special Forces, but
is due to fly out in 14 days! Happy Birthday son!
